What happens at a Groove Garm workshop?
🎧 Learn the basics You'll get hands-on time with real DJ decks. Our tutorS takes you through beat-matching, mixing, and reading a crowd, from the absolute basics.
👥 In a small group Max 12 young people per session, so everyone gets proper time on the equipment. Mixed ability, total beginners welcome.
🎤 Then perform Crews who complete both Saturdays get the chance to play a set at Marlborough Festival on Saturday 20 June 2026.

Questions parents usually ask
How much does it cost? Nothing. The workshops are completely free thanks to our partnership with Marlborough Festival.
Does my child need any experience? No. Most attendees have never touched a deck before. We start from zero.
What do they need to bring? Just themselves and headphones if they own any (we have spares). Wear something comfortable. djS CAN ALSO BUY REFRESHMENTS FROM THE SHOP IN THE CHURCH.
What ages are mixed together? 12–19s in one session, but Fran groups people by experience level once they arrive. Older and younger attendees are kept aware of each other and supervised throughout.
Drop-off and pick-up? Drop off from 2:45pm at St Peter's Church, Marlborough. Pick up at 6pm sharp from the same entrance. Under-16s must be collected by a named adult.
Safeguarding? GROOVE GARM MANAGEMENT are DBS-checked. We folLOW THE GROOVE GARM safeguarding policy. A copy is available on request — just reply to your confirmation email.
Photos and video? We sometimes take photos and short clips for social media. You can opt out on the consent form we'll send after signup — no questions asked.
What if my child can only make one Saturday? Both Saturdays are ideal but not required. Let us know on the form, and WE'LL plan around it.
